I've had many friends attempt to join the world of Role-play, but the main thing that gets in the way is "homework". I'm sure you've spent hours building your character, just to find out it's not really what you want, and spent even more hours rebuilding the character, hoping the Game Master (GM) kills the old 1. In Forge, you Forge your character as you play! That's right! Your players never even need to open the rulebook! They can play whatever they want HOWEVER they want without spending a single second looking through the rules (we still have a character creation page for experienced payers)!
With the flexibility of a point-based system allowing for any Realm of role-play (Sci-fi, Fantasy, Zombie apocalypse, Aliens Western, Horror, and anything else you could possibly think of) and the ease of use, this is a Perfect system for introducing new players to role-play. It's even better for experienced players who already know all the flaws in other systems (Lack of flexibility in races/classes, bogged down combat, limited or overcomplicated magic systems, complicated calculations, large rulebooks, and hard to keep track of character sheets).
As a GM, you will need to read the rulebook, but IT'S A FEW PAGES LONG! You can read it in under 1 hr! There are only 4 stats, and all rolls are based off these stats. We kept the 20 sided die (D20), and because special dice are so fun, we also included other dice in the damage system! We still have Abilities (passives), and Magic (through Attacks or Effects)
Forge is already implemented on Roll20.net for any virtual players!
Combat is different than most systems to save time! A full combat scenario lasts about 15 min! We do this by implementing a timer. All players take their turn at the same time! Saving initiative rolls. All players have 1 min to decide all actions (2 per turn). Combat is expedited further by making defense expensive (people pass out faster), removing most defensive rolls, and removing complicated calculations).
We've also combined gold (currency) with character points. This means that the system is balanced in forms of items, because the cost of items is directly related to character points.
We've removed HUGE lists of items, Advantages/Disadvantages, Skills, Spells, and weapons. You pick what YOU want, without deciding something from a huge list. Let your creative juices flow! Everything has a calculable cost,
